I Don't Want To Say Another Name
"Police chief commended for his swift and decisive action to terminate the employment of the officers involved in death of a Black man,” "Officer fired for fatal shooting of Black man," "officer fired after fatal police shooting," "1 on administrative leave after fatal shooting of Black man..." Why are these even headlines?! Who else can keep their job, go on administrative leave *paid vacation * and look forward to a milli dollar pension after pursuing and killing a Black man, or a Black woman, or a Black child?!
So, when fast food restaurant Wendy's burned to a crisp in Atlanta this past Friday night and $10K was offered for the capture of the "arsonists" I wondered when was StopCrimeATL going to stop crime within their own police department against Blacks! When will all police departments around this country get swept clean from top to bottom, corner to corner, of the dirty, corrupt pigs who pretend to protect and to serve, when "they" only protect and serve a certain select few?! When will the convenient "resignations," the paid desk jobs, the fat pensions cease in exchange for Black life?!
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired and of seeing our lives and our demises play out for the entire world to see only for "their" pure entertainment. I am sick and tired of the hashtags. I am sick and tired of saying his name. I am sick and tired of saying her name. There are too many names. I am sick and tired of hearing about databases and about training policies. Bawses clean house. No way someone with at least 17 police misconduct complaints, or a bunch of convictions for that matter should have ever been allowed on the force. Or someone getting picked up straight from a Sears security job or from the grill area of a McDonald's need not apply.
I need Black leadership to truly step up! You have the position, now work it! Black police chiefs, Black mayors, comb through your police departments! Make officer residency real. If you don't live in my community, you don't have the right to police my community. Break the seal on the misconduct records! Stop giving out medals and clean slates for dirty pigs to kill our people over and over again. Hold them accountable like everyone else. Fire them on site at the first screw-up. Arrest immediately for taking a Black life. Bring down swift and poetic justice for taking a Black life. Throw away the key for dirty pigs to never see the light of day again for taking a Black life. Send a message loud and clear. Stop talking about it, but be about it! TAKE OUT THE TRASH OR BE OUT WITH THEM!!!
