Fact or Fake News: Wearing Gloves To The Grocery Store Won't Protect You From COVID-19
I can't believe we're still discussing gloves and handwashing and the 20-second rule and sing the Happy Birthday song twice😂. And who is wearing rubber gloves to the supermarket, touching items, and then scratching their face?! Ew🤦🏽♀️. If you're truly concerned with what the latest "experts" are saying, wearing gloves at the grocery store is actually doing more harm than good. Well, yeah, when you're doing it like "Karen," like, duh.
Picking up a box of cereal (assuming someone with the virus on their hands had already touched that cereal box) with gloved hands, putting it back, touching your face with said gloved hands, tucking your hair behind your ear, and then pulling out your cell phone to check your shopping list, all cross-contamination. One hygiene expert says it doesn't make sense for the "general public" to wear gloves and that should be left to the people who work in hospitals, who are properly trained to peel the gloves from the inside and without touching the outside when disposing of them. So, this article cited seems to be for those who can't resist touching their eyes, nose, and mouth in grocery stores.
I was always taught not to touch my face anyway to maintain clear skin and avoid acne. I'd rather get the virus on my gloves than on my bare hands. So, wear ya gloves my peeps.
