DMV Turns Away Customers After Reopening Some Offices To Serve Required In-Person Transactions

As DMVs re-open across the country they are also turning customers away. Your Secretary of State is not opening doors those who do not have
not "an emergency situation," such as regular car registration. They want that done online.

Transactions being completed at a field office include: paying registration for an impounded vehicle, reinstating a driver license, applications for state identification cards, commercial driver license, applications for handicapped parking, ambulance certificate or firefighter endorsement to a driver license, and verifying a transit training document to drive a transit bus.

Safety protocols in place at the offices include six feet distancing between people waiting in line as well as handwashing stations for customers. Masks are required and gloves are recommended.
