Black Doctors Take COVID-19 Testing to the People

Pediatric surgeon Dr. Ala Sanford is tired of the conversation and seeing patients turned away from her hospital who want to be tested for COVID-19. Dr. Sanford and 30 other doctors comprise the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium. They bring the testing to poor, Black communities in Philadelphia, to those who are worried they may have the virus and may not have transportation. Dr. Sanford and volunteers hop in a van with test kits and PPE to drive to a designated location, such as a church parking lot, to test 200 people per day.
