Pastor asks members of church to donate stimulus checks
There are still good pastors. Tony Spell just ain't it. He heads Life Tabernacle Church in the state of Louisiana. He continues to hold large church services during the governor's stay-at-home order. He broke house arrest and continues services of hundreds of members. Spell also turned down federal financial aid from the Paycheck Protection Plan last month.
So, now he has launched the Pastor Spell Stimulus Challenge. Spell wants his congregation to donate their stimulus payments to evangelists, missionaries, and music ministers who he said have not received offerings since the pandemic. Spell is claiming himself, his wife, and his son have all donated their stimulus checks to the church.
