Colorism attributed to casting choices for upcoming Lifetime biopic
Cheryl "Salt" James and Sandra "Pepa" Denton are executive producers of the anticipated upcoming biopic Salt-N-Pepa: The Movie. So, it's not quite clear why they're stating that "lightskin/darkskin" played a role in selecting the cast. The trailer has been getting dragged on social media ever since it dropped last weekend during a break of The Clark Sisters biopic. This always seems to be an issue. But in these days and times the self-hatred with "lightskin/darkskin" and "good hair" is very disappointing and tired. Queen Latifah is also a producer. No release date has been set as of yet.
