Utah's First Black Lawmaker Demands An Apology

Utah’s first and only Black representative Sandra Hollins, D-Salt Lake City, got offended by a white lobbyist in a caucus meeting and is demanding an apology.

The lobbyist in question is Angela Kelly. In a fight to maintain polygamy as a felony, she walked up to Rep. Hollins in a room full of lawmakers, told her that her skin was Black, and equated polygamy to slavery. Rep. Hollins asserted that Kelly is attempting to "use her ancestors to build (her) political career."

Kelly is digging up the grave and enlisting Harriet Beecher Stowe, of all people, to support her argument. This is just the latest news in continued attempts to rewrite history and erase our heritage...smh
