The Problem with "Monkey See, Monkey Do"

This country is behind in education. In this era education should be fast-moving, not just your high-speed internet. Classrooms at the pre-school level should be operating iPads, viewing smart screens, working a desktop. It should be how many languages a child speaks, not if. Other countries are advancing while some are privileged and feel entitled to buy their kids' way into schools. And others complain about outsourcing of jobs. What's on America the beautiful's lesson plan du jour? Young Mattie's hair bun, Lola's shirt baring shoulders, young Malcolm X 's name on his jacket, and so-called educators teaching age-old racist doctrine concerning the Black race and monkeys.

There is no wonder to see children spewing this same hatred and proudly sporting Confederate flag jackets. If anyone is feeling froggy, jump! But you can miss me with that "oh he was sheltered and doesn't know any better" or "there's no harm in calling a child (Black children) a monkey, H&M say they're the coolest animals in the jungle." Scientists and doctors have been studying Blacks and equating their racist research of our beautiful facial features to that of monkeys and barbarism. For nine Black boys singled out from Scottsboro, Alabama back in 1931, the monkey narrative meant an entire creation and release of a movie, King Kong, tied into putting them on trial for rape crimes they had not committed. So, "monkey," "ape," "chimpanzee," "porch monkey," and other racial slurs, all used before the prison doors slam for a crime not committed, all yelled right before a lynching from the highest tree. So, a so-called educator has no place in the classroom, belittling Black children and corrupting the minds of others who are also there to learn. It is time-out for the "innocent" Monkey See, Monkey Do. There is nothing civilized about it.
